Welcome to the Well Traveled Men's Journal

Life is a journey, and every day brings new experiences worth sharing. The Well Traveled Men Journal is our space to document the highlights of our travels, discoveries, and daily adventures. Whether we’re exploring hidden gems in bustling cities, savoring the flavors of a must-try restaurant, or testing out the latest travel gadgets, this journal captures it all in real-time.

This isn’t about elaborate reviews or long-form articles—it’s about the moments that inspire us and the things that make our travels memorable. From an unforgettable weekend getaway to a quick note about a gadget that’s changed the way we pack, this is where we share it all.

We invite you to follow along as we document the little things that make life on the road extraordinary. Think of it as a candid glimpse into our daily lives as men who travel for both business and leisure. If you’re looking for inspiration, recommendations, or just a bit of insight into what it means to live well while traveling often, you’ve come to the right place.

Check back often to see what we’re up to, and feel free to share your own experiences or tips in the comments. Let’s celebrate the art of living, exploring, and staying curious—one journal entry at a time.

January 16th 2025 – La Jolla CA
We just got back from three days skiing in Breckenridge, Colorado. Beautiful weather, absolutely bluebird days, plus the snow conditions were great and we skied every part of the mountain. We stayed at Gravity Haus in central Breckenridge.
It’s not quite ski-in/out but it’s just a couple of minutes’ walk from the chair. Gravity Haus have eight locations across Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and California.
Plus they have some partnerships with hotels around the state of Colorado as well. Gravity Haus are open to the public, but they also have a membership scheme and for a very reasonable monthly cost, members get benefits including discounts in restaurants, access to co-working spaces, discounts on gear rentals and the biggest perk of all, a massive 50% discount on hotel room rates, Sunday through Wednesday and then 25% off Thursday through Saturdays. And we love the gravity House in Breckenridge. I wouldn’t call it a luxury hotel but It’s a really upscale, funky, outdoor themed location that’s a lot of fun to stay at and very, very comfortable. The staff is great, the restaurant food is great and the location is hard to beat.

January 8th 2025 – Breckenridge Colorado
A real bluebird day skiing at Breckenridge.  The sun was strong but it was still cold and riding the Imperial Express Superchair, which is the highest chairlift in North America and tops out at 12,840 ft. We were grateful for some very thoughtful gifts we received over the holidays – the Outdoor Research heated gloves kept our hands warm all day and something that would make a great gift for any winter sports enthusiast.  Tonight we are staying at the Alpenrock, a Hilton Curio hotel.  This is a great property just a very short walk from the Quicksilver Superchair and very spacious rooms.

January 6th 2025 – Keystone Colorado
This is the 17th year that we have skied Keystone and its safe to say that its one of our favorite resorts.  There is something special about Keystone, its much lower-key than its neighbors Breckenridge and Vail and just feels much more like a genuine Rocky Mountain ski experience.  Its not the only place that we ski by any means but it is always on our ski trip rotation.  There are many accommodation options available and we usually pick one that is in the River Run Village and walkable to the gondola and lift.  This week we are staying at a townhouse that has far exceeded our expectations – recently constructed and furnished to a very high standard with plenty of room for a group of 6.  We are heading to an old favorite, the Snake River Saloon for dinner, this is somewhere you should try, its a throw back for sure and is one of the oldest saloons in Summit County.  One side is a bar with pool table and great local live music at the weekends, the other side is a white cloth restaurant serving hearty meals and a reasonable wine list.  If you are looking for a Colorado ski vacation be sure to check out Keystone for something different.  The conditions are great right now!
